Dutch Valley Bernese Mountain Dogs

A Bernese Mountain Dog is very loyal, family oriented, and honest. Originally used for barnyard predator control and droving cattle, the BMD has become adaptable to a range of environments.  They thrive as a companion/family dog and show great character with their faithfulness and gentle demeanor.  

The goal is for our puppies to bring joy, laughter, and a sense of fulfillment to their families. One of the objectives of our breeding program is to expand on the natural traits of the BMD by raising personable, well-rounded puppies. 

We practice ethical breeding by only raising a litter when we have a market, raising and maintaining every dog in our program as a member of our family, and completing breed appropriate health testing. We are devoted to making the best match possible for each puppy and their new family. We are committed to the well-being of each Dutch Valley Bernese Mountain Dog for their lifetime. 

All of our dogs reside in our home. Our puppies are raised as members of the household and as part of our curriculum they are exposed to every aspect of our home (for example, the different sights and sounds in the kitchen versus the living room). 

 We only breed dogs that are cleared of all genetic diseases. We work hard to make the best matches, both by their conformation and temperament. 

We raise our puppies with early neurological stimulation, followed by a socialization regime to introduce them to different sounds, environments, texture, people, and more!
